When the encapsulation mode of an optical module is determined, the external size, optical interface, electrical interface, channel number, and rate of the optical module are determined. With the development of Ethernet standards, the packaging mode of optical modules has undergone several changes, accompanied by the market demand for miniaturization and high speed of optical modules.
Taking the QSFP package mode as an example, as shown in the following figure, the brief structure diagram is like this. The blue-green part of the figure is the MPO jumper inserted in the optical interface.
The optical modules of the same package mode produced by different manufacturers have the same external dimensions and shapes. They can be designed in the aspects of pull ring, card slot and opening, and match the internal circuit board design, heat dissipation design, module assembly and other aspects.
