50M Hybrid USB gen 1 AM to AF Extension Cable (Compatible With USB 2.0 and 1.1)
Description
Extend the distance between a computer and its USB peripherals with the Smartavlink SUMF-3250. This USB Type-A male to Type-A female active optical extension cable supports USB 5Gbps operation over lengths up to 50 meters, with backward compatibility for USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices.
Its hybrid construction combines OM3 optical fiber for high-speed data transmission with copper conductors for electrical functions and power. It provides up to 5 V / 900 mA for remote peripherals without a separate USB power input at the device end. The extension gives system integrators more flexibility to position compatible USB cameras, conference equipment, storage devices, and other peripherals away from the host computer.
The SUMF-3250 uses a directional Host-to-Device connection and requires no additional cable driver. Custom lengths, jacket options, and housing designs are available for OEM projects. Select the configuration around the intended host, peripheral, installation route, and power requirements.
- USB extension up to 50 meters. Position the host computer away from the peripheral for meeting rooms, camera installations, and remote USB access.
- Up to 5Gbps signaling.Supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 operation, commonly referred to as USB 3.0. Actual transfer performance depends on the connected equipment and application.
- USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 compatibility.Use compatible legacy peripherals as well as USB 5Gbps devices. Each peripheral remains limited by its own USB capabilities.
- Hybrid optical and copper construction.OM3 fiber carries the high-speed optical data path, while copper conductors support the cable’s electrical functions and power path.
- Remote peripheral power up to 5 V / 900 mA.No separate USB power input is required at the device end. Match the peripheral’s power requirements to the selected cable length and host configuration.
- No additional cable driver.Supports plug-and-play connection and hot plugging. Connected peripherals may still require their own drivers or software.
- Remote USB hub support.Connect a compatible hub at the device end when multiple peripherals are needed. Devices share the upstream link and available power budget.
- OEM configuration options.Custom lengths, alternative jacket options, and housing designs help match the cable to the installation.
